TOPIC  : SHAPES

TIME                 : 60 MINUTES

VOCABULARY  : Square, triangle, rectangle, circle

CONTENT STANDARD:

By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to :

1. 1.      pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm

             and intonation

2. 2       demonstrate understanding of a variety of  linear and non-linear texts in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning.

LEARNING STANDARDS:

1.1.4     Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance.

2.2.1     Able to read and apply word recognition and word attack skills by matching words with:

            a) graphics

            b) spoken words

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

1)     Name the shapes of objects shown to them

2)     Create shapes in groups

3)     Match the words to the correct shapes

4)     Solve a jigsaw puzzle

The teacher asks a few       pupils to come in front     and take out one object     at a time,name them      and put  them on the        table.     Questions posed by     the teacher: a) Name the object? b) Are there any     similarities in these     objects?	1. A few pupils come in     front and take out  the     objects and name them. 2. The pupils put the     objects on the      table. 3. 1.2 Analysis ( 10 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATORS 1.2.2-Mengasingkan maklumat berdasarkan kriteria tertentu. 1.2.3-Mengumpul maklumat berdasarkan upperwa tertentu.	1.Teacher asks pupils to    go through the objects . 2. Teacher calls out a few     pupils to group the     objects. Questions posed by the teacher: a) Can we group the     objects together? b) Which objects can be     grouped together? c) Why we group objects      in group 1 together? d)  What are the           similarities of objects         grouped together?	1. Pupils look and touch the    objects. 2. Pupils group the objects     in four groups. Group objects 1 plate, ball, clock 2 eraser, book, photo frame 3 ruler, pencil box 4 triangle, triangle-shaped upperware, sandwich
2. Imagination Phase 2.1 Creating Idea (10 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATOR 2.1.4-Mencari hubung kait,gabung jalin atau corak berdasarkan maklumat yang ada.	1. Teacher explains about shapes and provides a few objects as examples. Questions posed by the teacher: a) Give a few examples of     objects which has the     shapes of triangle,     square, rectangle and     circle?	1. Pupils read  aloud the      words. 2.Pupils  provides    examples of objects    which has shapes of    triangle, square, rectangle              and circle.	2.2.1            Able to read and apply word recognition and word attack skills by matching words with: a) graphics b)spoken words
2.2 Synthesizing Idea (10 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATOR 2.2.2- Menghasilkan bentuk komunikasi yang unik - lukisan, kraf,binaan, peta, rajah,puisi,muzik,lagu,karangan,laporan dan       lakaran.	1.Teacher divides the pupils    into a few groups, 6    members in a group. Questions posed by the teacher: a)     Form a shape by working  in groups.	1.Pupils work in their groups    to form shapes. 2. Pupils cooperate with each     other in the group to form     shapes.
3. Development     Phase 3.1 Adoption and       Adaptations (5 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATOR 3.1.1: Menokok tambah idea.	1. Teacher asks pupils to     think of any other shapes     that they know. Questions posed by the teacher: Are there any other shapes ? Name the shapes?	1. Pupils think of the shapes     that they know and name     them.
3.2 Evaluation (10 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATOR 3.2.3- Membuat wajaran dengan betul.	1.Teacher distributes    pictures of shapes to 2    groups of pupils and word    cards to the another two    groups. Questions posed by the teacher: a)Find and match the    words to the pictures of    shapes.	1. Pupils finds and match the     words to the pictures of     shapes.	2.2.1            Able to read and apply word recognition and word attack skills by matching words with: a) graphics b)spoken words
4. Action Phase 4.1 Implementation (5 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATOR 4.1.2-Menyusun idea secara tersusun dan mudah difahami.	1.Teacher  gives a jigsaw     puzzle to pupils. 2. Teacher instructs pupils     to work in pairs to solve     the puzzle. Questions posed by the teacher: a)     Solve the jigsaw puzzle ? b)    Name the shape in the puzzle?	1.Pupils solve the puzzle in    pairs.
4.2 Continuous       Implementation (5 minutes) CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTATION INDICATOR 4.2.1 – Peka kepada perkara di sekeliling.	1.Teacher  shows  a toy bus which has all the shapes on it. 2. Teacher asks pupils to     identify the shapes on the toy bus. Questions posed by the teacher:             a) What is  this?             b) What can you       see on this object?             c) Point and name                the shapes that                you can see  on                  the bus?	1.Pupils name the shapes by    pointing to them.
