Dan was a black cat.
He was very fat and bad.
Dan had a big hat and a mat.
He put the hat on the mat.

Pam the sad little rat,
had a ham in a bag.
She sat on Dan's mat
with the hat and the bag.

Dan the cat
saw Pam the rat
on the mat
with the hat and the bag.

Dan took the ham in the bag.

He ate it!
And left with the bag, hat,
mat and rat!

* The 'a' sound in the verses has a short vowel sound.
